Shop small is a familiar phrase this season. The makers movement is growing and becoming more mainstream. Why is it important?
  • When you buy something from me, I buy something from another maker. We are all in the same boat and really appreciate handmade! Makers support makers, we buy from each other and promote each other.
  • When you buy from me I use that money to purchase my supplies. You guessed it they are made in the USA, even better my home state OHIO. My Clay is manufactured by Laguna Clay Company in Byesville Ohio. The glaze I buy is either from Laguna or Mayco, which is made in Hilliard Ohio. Raw materials used to mix glazes are also bought from Laguna. I do my best to buy USA whenever I can.
  • When you buy from me I grocery shop at my local grocery stores. One of which is a year round farmers market comprised of local farms. The money get passed on to the farmers/bakers/makers in my area.
  • When you buy from me you are speaking with your dollar. You are saying that you support American made and you appreciate the American maker. We may be small but we are the change. Want to bring jobs back? Buy USA. It has to start somewhere, you have the power of choice. Consider it a baby step in the right direction.
  • When you buy from me, you put a face on your purchase. I am the person that made your product, my two hands, my hard work, my small town. If something is wrong I'll fix it, no middle men, no customer service department, it's me! Being connected to the person who made your product is satisfying and makes it a little less material and a little more visceral. A little more connected to the grass roots of this country that was made by makers. So shop small this season and any chance you get, my deepest gratitude 🌟
